Premium appliance brands exhibit at Sydney Design Show - Appliance Retailer

Oct 14, 2024

The inaugural Kitchen + Bath Show made its debut at the ICC Sydney last week as Australia’s only design trade show dedicated to the kitchen, bathroom, laundry and home storage industry.

The Kitchen + Bath Show was hosted alongside the ArchiBuild Expo and Design Show Australia, creating a powerhouse trio of events, bringing together manufacturers, distributors, retailers, cabinet makers, joiners, designers, architects, fit-out specialists, and building professionals.

Featuring a diverse range of products from appliances to tapware and fittings, the show offered visitors an environment to learn, network and explore the latest trends and products.

Schweigen debuted its new line-up of Schweigen Design rangehoods offering silent operation, adjustable warm and cold LED lighting and touch free gesture control to turn the hood on or off and change its motor speed and light settings.

The Aura wall mounted rangehood delivers an elegant, rippled surface, while the Harmonia wall mounted rangehood features a minimalist form and can be integrated with any cooktop via wireless connection. The Nova and Luna wall mounted rangehoods offer a more traditional T shaped design.

The Halo and Helios cylindrical island rangehoods incorporate hand-painted craftmanship and an energy efficient motor system that uses up to 95% less energy compared to traditional motors of the same extraction rate. The Nexus island rangehood is a modular system with optional glass and cup hanger for easy integration and extra storage space for kitchen accessories.

“The sheer number, quality and interest of Design Show visitors coming through from both the professional and homeowner segments was truly outstanding,” Schweigen director, Anthony Fletcher said.

“There were so many visitors taking photos and videos of our display or requesting to be kept updated on stock availability. According to many, our new Schweigen Design collection delivered the ‘wow’ factor in both form and function and has captured their imagination on how the same could star in their projects. We can’t wait to launch these offerings later this year.”

Bertazzoni participated in The Design Show to further grow brand awareness and showcase its new world-first three-in-one Professional Series Air-Tec 90cm freestanding cooker combining an 11-function electric oven, four zone induction cooktop and 10-speed built-in downdraft ventilation system.

“The show was a good platform for all exhibitors to present new products to architects, builders and designers. Visitors were extremely engaged, and we received positive feedback on our Air-Tec cooker,” Bertazzoni Australia managing director, Mark Tragear said.

BORA was a first-time exhibitor at The Design Show to further grow brand awareness among the architect, builder and designer community.

“We received a lot of interest over the three days, particularly from more boutique home specifiers and developers. The feedback on our downdraft cooktop was extremely positive as we quickly recognised an educational gap in the market for these types of 2-in-1 cooktop systems,” BORA country manager for APAC, Stefano Di Giovanni said.

“Our newly launched X BO oven was the ‘eye-catching’ new appliance, also receiving positive feedback from attendees. We look forward to inviting visitors to our showrooms around the country for live cooking demonstrations to see our products in action first-hand.”

This year’s Design Show was again the perfect vehicle to further introduce Unox Casa to the sophisticated and savvy Australian and New Zealand market.

“From the vision of bringing restaurant-quality cooking to home kitchens, Unox Casa has created an appliance that does more than just cook – it transforms the culinary experience. The Design Show provided Unox Casa the opportunity to meet architects, builders and designers, as well as project managers and homeowners, and demonstrate how we are changing the landscape when it comes to choosing the right oven for your project,” Unox Australia managing director, Wayne Viles said.

“At Unox Casa, we believe the comfort and luxury of a high-end culinary experience shouldn’t be confined to restaurants. Design Show Australia allows us to project this belief to a wider market than a traditional sales approach.”

Olimpia Splendid marketing and NPD manager, Peter Burnham described the Archibuild Expo event as the premier exhibition for architectural building products, materials and systems.

“We showcased cooling, heating and dehumidification products. There was a great deal of interest for the Unico Pro air conditioner with no external unit and our air curtains which are placed over a doorway to create an invisible barrier (curtain of air) to keep out bugs, dust and odours.”
